Box trucks may be considered for smaller pallet counts, retail replenishment, local distribution, limited-volume manufacturing freight and shipments that do not need tractor-trailer capacity.
Vehicle dimensions and payload vary substantially. “Box truck” alone is not enough information to confirm a fit.
Details to confirm
Provide freight dimensions, weight and pallet count. Ask about interior box dimensions, door opening, payload and whether a liftgate or pallet jack is required.
Confirm dock height and site access. Some facilities cannot load or unload every box truck configuration.
Service area and timing
Box truck options can be local, regional or longer distance depending on the provider and equipment. Driver scheduling and operating rules still affect timing.
Expedited does not mean unlimited speed. A realistic plan accounts for distance, loading, unloading and required stops.
Packaging and securement
Freight must be packaged and secured for the actual vehicle. Loose or top-heavy items can shift even on short routes.
Document condition and count at pickup and delivery and communicate exceptions promptly.
